About the Minnesota Psychoanalytic Society and Institute (MPSI)

MPSI is a Community for Education and Professional Membership

MPSI is a vibrant and growing community for psychoanalysis in Minnesota and the Upper Midwest.  MPSI is a nonprofit educational organization, providing a variety of training and educational opportunities in the field of psychoanalysis for members, professionals as well as the interested general public.

MPSI is comprised of three divisions – The Society, a member organization of clinicians and professionals interested in psychoanalytic principles, The Institute, which provides psychoanalytic training and  Minnesota Psychotherapy Center (MPC), a low fee clinic provided by MPSI.

The Society (MPS)

The Society is a constituent society of the American Psychoanalytic Association. Members of MPS are clinicians and professionals who share a common enthusiasm for furthering the understanding and application of psychoanalytic concepts to the practice of psychotherapy and psychoanalysis, and, as it applies, to related professions that enrich lives across culture and society. *

The Institute (MPI)

An institute of the American Psychoanalytic Association, the MPI is dedicated to training future psychoanalysts. It offers an opportunity for clinicians to expand and deepen their professional skills based on psychoanalytic perspectives.

Minnesota Psychotherapy Center (MPC)

The MPSI Psychotherapy Center offers an alternative to other community psychological services because of its freedom from the constraints of insurance requirements and its commitment to providing intensive services that bring long-term results.  More information can be found on their website
